Working Principle
Oil level sensors use magnetic reed switches, that are hermitically sealed in a stainless steel or plastic stem, to measure oil levels and automatically turn on or off oil pumps. The reed switch moves up and down the stem to open or break circuits (turn on or off oil pumps) according to oil levels rising and falling.

Function
This sensor is used to monitor the oil level by continuously measuring the engine oil level in the static and dynamic ranges. The sensor is designed for vertical installation from below in the bottom of the oil pan. Inside the housing there are the level sensor, temperature sensor, and sensor electronics.
